Western Electric Single Phase Electric Motors

All Western Electric single phase motors have output power ratings that match output power ratings of standard 3 phase motors, which allow them to be readily interchangeable with 3 phase motors.

Western Electric single phase motors are manufactured to comply with IEC 34 and 72 and CE requirements. They also comply with Electromagnetic Compatibility requirements, (EMC).

The standard enclosure is designed to give an IP55 protection against dust and water.

These motors should not be run on no load as there is a danger that the running capacitor will be subjected to over-voltage (there have been cases where capacitors have failed even with the motors very lightly loaded). These motors should be operated on full load or close to full load.
